Library Assembly Series: Google Races

For its last PSA in school assembly, the MBA Library made a presentation and hosted a contest about Google searching and smart research strategies. After inviting 4 volunteers to the front, Mr. Quinn timed all of them while they conducted searches on Google and the Library Databases. The Library planned this presentation to show students (1) Google search techniques (use keywords), (2) the fast speed of Google searching for fact-based reference searches, and most importantly (3) the importance of using the Library Databases, which can be just as fast, for deeper research needs. The crowd got into it, and lots of students were talking about the Google Races later that day. Stay tuned next Semester for more exciting Library PSA’s in Assembly.

Fast, but does Google always offer the most relevant results?
